BEACHES

WATER FALLS

RICE TERRACES

The many palm-fringed, powder-like white sand beaches surounded by crystal clear turquoise waters makes Boracay Island - in the Visayas Region of the Philippines - a true world-class tourist destination.

Refreshing Bumod-ok waterfalls is a memorable full day excursion started from Sagada, Mountain Province, Philippines and - because of the numerous ways to make a wrong turn while hiking over kilometers of the tops of rice terrace walls - the journey should be undertaken using the services of the Sagada Environmental Guides Association.

The mulit-hued green rice terraces of Sagada in Mountain Province - in the Central Cordillera Region of the Philippines - are a very worthwhile tourist attraction. Built overthe past 2000 years, they form together such a gigantic technical masterpiece that they have been called, "The eighth wonder of the world".

CITIES & FACILITIES MONUMENTS DESTINATIONS
Subic Bay Yacht Club - located in the Subic Bay Free Port Zone near Olongapo City, Zambales, Philippines - is a modern facility in a very protected harbor. The Rizal Monument in Rizal Park, Manila, Philippines contains the remains of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal. The monument - guarded continuously by changing teams of soldiers - was designed by Dr. Richard Kissline of Zurich, Switzerland. A white Muslim mosque on top of the municipal building in Bongao, Tawi-tawi Province, overlooks houses built on silts rising out of the Zulu Sea in the extreme south of the Philippines.

MOSQUES CHURCHES TEMPLES
The Muslim mosque at Taluksangay (about 20 kilometers north- east of Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur Province) is where - in 1885 - the religion first took hold on the large southern island of Mindanao, Philippines. The Manila Cathedral (located in Intramuros, Manila, Philippines) is the archdiocese of Metro Manila. The structure has a touch of Romanesque architecture and is now fully air-conditioned. The "Bell Temple" - located in Trinidad near Baguio City, Philippines - is an intricately decorated cluster of buildings reflecting the strong Chinese influence on modern Filipino society.

FLORA FAUNA INDIGENOUS
This toog tree - standing in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur Province, Philippines - is the largest toog remaining at over 85 meters high. The hardwood species is being actively planted and harvested in the "Caraga region" on the large southern Philippine island of Mindanao. The small "Fishing Eagle" (about 12" high only) is not as threatened as the better known and much larger Philippine Eagle. This one was found on Camiguin Island in the Visayas Region of the Philippines. The Ifugao people from the Central Cordilera region of the Philippines are well known for their building of the gigantic rice terraces of Banaue and nearby areas. However, their houses are modest affairs built on piles that support a one-room multi-use space kept dry by a pryramid-shaped roof made from the leaves of cogon - a durable native plant.
